ELIZABETH (“BETH”) HARRINGTON

Chief Executive Officer

Beth Harrington, a Fine Art's professional, founded E. B. Harrington & Co., Inc. as an art consulting company in 1980. From an early age she trained to be an artist with studies in art history in northern Italy and at the Institute of Fine Arts in NY. Prior to becoming an art consultant, Ms. Harrington worked for the well-known art dealer and gallery owner, Richard L. Feigen, on Park Avenue in Manhattan. With the gallery’s specialty in sourcing outstanding masterworks spanning the centuries, Ms. Harrington gained a wealth of experience in all facets of the art business.

ELIZABETH (“BETH”) HARRINGTON

Chief Executive Officer

She was trained to deal with the most discerning international clients and developed a connoisseur’s “eye” for evaluating artwork. In addition to client relations, Ms. Harrington became proficient at auction bidding, handling the transportation of fine works of art to global locations, maintaining and cataloguing inventory, and running the day-to-day operations of a gallery. Since founding Harrington’s, the Company has built an excellent reputation based on years of successful transactional experience!

PETER R. BARKER

Managing Director

Peter Barker has been involved in the world of private equity for over 30 years. He began his career in the reinsurance business at American International Group in 1976 and is a recognized expert in the field. In 1978, he formed Global Intermediary, Inc., a Wall Street based reinsurance broker and consultant. He was a leading figure in the formation of successful “captive” insurance companies in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands and went on to co-edit “Reinsurance and Reinsurance Management” an executive’s guide to the reinsurance business. In addition, he conceptualized and developed national insurance programs including all related services, marketing plans, customer relations and claims services. He was appointed by Lloyd's of London to underwrite insurance coverage for the transportation industry.

In 1998, Mr. Barker joined Spring Investment Company, a boutique private investment firm in New York, which specialized in financing emerging market companies, primarily in China and Russia, utilizing a publicly traded investment vehicle. He traveled extensively to both countries. Working with Andersen Group, Inc., a publicly traded company controlled by the Grace family, he conceptualized and funded the start-up of Comcor, the first fiber optic based Cable TV, Internet services company in Moscow.

PETER R. BARKER

Managing Director

Mr. Barker has been a strategic, business development, partner for a number of companies and most recently was the Executive Director of a non-profit organization that focused on regional economic development through the arts. He is an avid art enthusiast.

As a Managing Director of E. B. Harrington & Co., Inc, Mr. Barker will be responsible for daytoday operations as well as guiding the insurance and financial divisions.

BARCLAY T. LEIB

Barclay Leib is a graduate of Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School, where he was named a Wilson Scholar (deemed “Above Highest Honors”). Starting in 1999, Mr. Leib launched his own alternative asset management consulting business Sand Spring Advisors LLC, and as a portion of his activities there, was a trading consultant to a major New York City-based long-short equity fund, Glenrock Asset Management, between 2007 and 2012.

His early capital market experience includes:

  • First Vice President and Head of Paine Webber’s Proprietary Trading and Arbitrage Group (1987-1989)
  • Vice President & Senior Trader J. Aron Goldman Sachs’ Currency and Commodity Derivatives Trading (1989-1992)
  • SVP & Proprietary Trader/FX Strategist at Barclays Bank (1993-1995) and Société Générale (1995 -1998)
  • Assistant to the Chairman at the Princeton Economic Institute (1998-1999)


Mr. Leib’s specific responsibilities include the management of corporate finance, creation and development of art investment products and art lending. He is also a leader in the development of alternative asset investment strategies and will utilize this expertise to innovate new products that complement the firm's existing portfolio.
