NYFA’s mission is to “empower artists at critical stages in their creative lives.” They offer weekly listings of paid and unpaid internships in the arts as well as full-time jobs. Most jobs are in the New York metropolitan area although there are others listed in surrounding cities. The job listings are updated regularly and efficiently organized by date of listing. AMERICANS FOR THE ARTS

A vitally important organization whose mission is to “serve, advance, and lead the network of organizations and individuals who cultivate, promote, sustain, and support the arts in America.” They have a dedicated job bank service and phone line for assistance. Founded in 1960, Americans for the Arts is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education. From offices in Washington, DC and New York City, Americans for the Arts provides a rich array of programs that meet the needs of over 150,000 members and stakeholders. ARTS AND BUSINESS COUNCIL OF NEW YORK

(A Division of Americans for the Arts), offers a Multicultural Arts Management Internship Program. This internship program was created to promote diversity in arts management careers and to provide young people who have an interest in a career in either the arts or business with a hands-on introduction to work in the business fields of the nonprofit arts sector. Each summer, the Arts & Business Council of New York matches select undergraduate students with arts organizations who need their help and with corporate mentors who can guide their personal and professional growth. → More info

Gain Experience In The ExpandingMarket For Fine Arts

MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

For an exciting opportunity in an art museum, work with MoMA curators and educators to gain experience in the museum field. Three types of internships are offered to suit different schedules. One can apply for a summer internship, fall internship or 12-month long internship. The Museum does a great job at matching an intern’s experience and skill with departmental needs. A sampling of the various departments in which internships may be offered are: Curatorial Affairs, Education and Research Support, Exhibitions and Collection Support, etc. For more information, please visit the MoMA website: → MoMA

METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MetMuseum, offers internship opportunities for college and graduate students interested in careers in art museums. Based upon their academic training and interests, as well as the availability of projects, interns work in one of the Metropolitan's departments such as the curatorial, education, conservation, administration, or library. Most projects require a strong knowledge of art history. Internships for high school students are also available. Please visit: → MetMuseum
